Movie Description
Illustrating the healing power of baseball and being part of a team with a common cause, American Pastime follows Japanese-American families during the 1940s. The struggle of living in internment camps only served to make them question themselves as much as some others were questioning them. Baseball gave an outlet for their frustration and a sense of fulfillment they weren’t able to find elsewhere at the time.

User Reviews [Review this film]
"Very Good. So many ways of life and how to live life to the fullest and with integrity were shown and taught in this film. Baseball in the end brought out the honesty that we all search for and the play at the plate was case in point.
I only wish that all of America could view this after a short history lesson and then we would not be willing to build walls between us. We should learn to reach out to each other for we all need the other kindred soul. Thank you for a great informative and true life story."
"Good. American Pastime has great historical significance, but struggles as a great baseball movie. Based on true happening during World War II gives the film credibility but the baseball quality lacks...as does the acting. John Kruk makes a somewhat annoying appearance as an announcer. Yet, the old Japanese guy makes up for it...funny dude." --Jason of SportsInMovies.com
