A surprising success upon release and a cult favorite in later years, 1991's Point Break stars Hollywood hunks Keanu Reeves, Patrick Swayze and Gary Busey in an action/surf film.
FBI agents Reeves and Busey find themselves in the middle of an investigation involving a series of bank robberies perpetrated by the "Ex-Presidents Gang," so called because of their donning of masks during the heists. Swayze is the leader of a gang of surfers that the federal agents suspect of actually being the bank robbers.
A friendship (albeit a suspicious one) develops between Reeves and Swayze due to their shared love of surfing. Busey remains skeptical, and a botched bank robbery appears to confirm original suspicions. Swayze escapes however, and the film climaxes with he and Reeves crossing paths in Australia some months afterwards.
