Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello co-starred in eight films together, the last being 1987's Back To the Beach. Also in the cast were Connie Stevens and Lori Loughlin, while appearing in cameos were such 60s-era notables as Bob Denver and Alan Hale, Jr., Edd Byrnes, Jerry Mathers, Tony Dow, Barbara Billingsley and Don Adams.
Frankie and Annette, now married and parents, visit their daughter, only to learn (in a neat role-reversal) that she has taken up with (shudder!) a surfer. Seeking to both save the daughter from such an unsavory fate, and also to relive his "glory days," Frankie is forced to take to the waves to prove he is still the "Big Kahuna."
The soundtrack features Stevie Ray Vaughan and surf guitar legend Dick Dale performing the surf anthem, "Pipeline."
