Movie Description

A 16-year old's quest to sail a 24-foot boat around the world is the story behind The Dove, a 1974 film based on the true story of Robin Lee Graham and was directed by Charles Jarrott and produced by screen legend Gregory Peck.

Graham spends five years pursuing his quest, and matures from a hesitant adolescent to a young man along the way. He meets a young woman in Australia and falls in love. The young woman begins trailing Graham on his journey, meeting him in his ports of call.

Filmed in such exotic locales as Fiji, the Galapagos Islands and the Australian outback, The Dove at times comes close to being almost TOO scenic, threatening to overshadow the story.

Joseph Bottoms as Graham and Deborah Raffin as the young lady who eventually becomes Mrs. Graham are appealing and convincing as the adventurous couple.
