Movie Description

Cross 'Bad News Bears' with 'The Longest Yard,' and sprinkle in a healthy dose of 'Rocky' and 'Pineapple Express' and the resulting film might be Division III: Football's Finest, a comedy from Image Entertainment.

The powers-that-be at tiny Pullham University have had enough losing at football and bring in the aptly-named Rick Vice as head coach to try and turn things around. Vice (Andy Dick) is one of the more offensive on-screen characters in recent memory. His "techniques" are straight out of the NCAA's "things-NOT-to-do" playbook, but, predictably, they result in "W's" on Saturday afternoons, which is, after all, the bottom line.

There isn't a lot in this film that's not been done many times before, although Andy Dick's performance is almost impressive owing to its sheer absence of redeeming qualities. The "win-at-all-costs" mentality has never been more effectively demonstrated.

Marshall Cook, who plays Pullham's quarterback Mitch DePrima, also wrote the screenplay, produced and directed.
