Movie Description

Andy and Jimmy Kelly are surfing brothers during the 1970s who literally live for surfing the big waves. In the Australian surf film Drift, the brothers learn some important life lessons about passion, loyalty, corruption and mending fences.

Despite their shared love of surfing, the two brothers are markedly different. Andy is the more stable, dependable brother, while Jimmy is the impulsive dare-devil. Jimmy is also an innovative genius, and Andy decides that there is a market for their ideas. Unfortunately, Jimmy also gets involved in some shady dealings with drug dealers as a way of making money. When he gets in too deep, their practically-new surfing equipment business is in danger of going under.

A pair of new friends, JB and Lani, a filmmaker and his companion, become involved with the brothers, and they prove to be critical components once the bad guys appear on the scene. Eventually, the brothers realize that the lessons they've learned from surfing can also be successfully applied to their unsavory situation.

Drift is beautifully filmed, with some of Australia's most breath-taking coastlines and awe-inspiring, powerful surf prominently featured.
