Movie Description

Reverse Runner is an off-beat comedy from Australia about a teenager who despite opposition and ridicule at every turn, dreams of making his mark as a competitive reverse runner (running backwards). Jarrod Theodore and Lachlan Ryan shared both writing and directing duties.

Kid Campbell (Dan Cannon) is the unorthodox teen who is seeking to step into the shoes of his hero John Jones, played by Steve Moneghetti, a real-life marathon legend in Australia. From the start, Kid's ambitions meet resistance, primarily from his father, but Kid has his eye on the prize and nothing will steer him away from it. His coach is encouraging, but harbors doubts. Despite the overwhelming odds, Kid refuses to give up and eventually wins most of the naysayers to his side.

Reverse Runner is far from a big-budget production, and the final cut shows plenty of post-production work, but the occasional cinematic gaffe only adds to the small-town feel that the film effortlessly imparts.
