Movie Description

Kevin Chu, who’s behind such films as the Shaolin Popey series, takes on a sports comedy with Kung Fu Dunk. The film is about as expected, with basketball mixed in with the stock martial arts action.

Orphaned and left abandoned next to a basketball court, Fang Shi-Jie (Jay Chou) is brought up at a martial arts academy, and becomes adept in the ways of hand-to-hand combat. Fang falls in with a local gangster, who utilizes Fang’s dart-throwing skills to his advantage, setting up matches, using Fang as a "ringer." The pair pull a scam on the wrong people however, and the ensuing brawl gets Fang expelled from school.

Fang turns his energies to basketball, where it’s discovered that his dart-throwing accuracy translates well to the hardwood. The problem is, he is woefully lacking in the other required skills, such as dribbling, passing, etc.

There are several subplots thrown in, including a romance, vindictive gangsters, all accompanied by a techno-Asian soundtrack that is overwhelming at times.
