Movie Description

Let It Ride is a comedy which presents every hard-luck gambler's fantasy, a day in which everything they touch comes up aces and eights.

Richard Dreyfuss is Jay Trotter, an habitual gambler whose "day job" is driving a taxicab. Typical of most gamblers, Jay's fortunes are usually on the negative side, until one day a fellow cab driver overhears two horse-racing insiders discussing a "sure thing" in the day's races. Jay can't resist the "tip," and places a bet. To his surprise, he wins, and is faced with a dilemma: Continue betting or keep his promise to his wife that he's giving up gambling.

Jay wins everything he wagers on, raking in more money than he could imagine. With his new-found affluence, he begins rubbing shoulders with other "high-rollers," including a sexy lady who makes it rather obvious that she can make him even more of a "winner."

Dreyfuss is splendid, as usual, and the rest of the cast (Teri Garr, David Johansen, Jennifer Tilly, Allen Garfield) are up to the challenge, making Let It Ride an enjoyable experience.
