Movie Description
Fast Girls is a sports drama directed by Regan Hall that follows two decidedly different female athletes as they strive to become members of the 4X100 meters relay team representing Great Britain in the World Championships.
Shania Andrews seemingly was born with every imaginable advantage, while Lisa Temple has fought her way up through the ranks of competitive running strictly on her own. When the two find themselves competing for the final two spots on the British relay team, personality and cultural clashes are inevitable. Dangerously close to resorting to physical confrontation, the pair instead find themselves developing a somewhat shaky friendship, and slowly realize that their differences are also their strengths.
Somewhat similar to Chariots of Fire (without the macho posturings), Fast Girls at times comes perilously close to being predictable, but the two stars (Lenora Crichlow and Lily James) are appealing and project just the right amount of athleticism and competitiveness to make the film interesting and entertaining.
